Specialist therapy for disordered eating

Understand the problem
From assessment and into the first few appointments we work together to understand your difficulties with eating.
There will be a reason for everything, no matter how illogical it seems right now.
We will work out how to tailor the therapy to meet your needs

Break the cycles that keep you stuck
While it can be useful to think about how the eating difficulties started, what keeps it going might be different.
The focus of therapy will be what keeps the problem going and working out how things can be different.

New relationship with food, body and mind
This is not just a talking therapy.
Outside of the therapy room there will be tasks to complete and new things to try.
To change your relationship with food, body and mind, you will need to take the learning into everyday life.
CBT for disordered eating
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) explores links and patterns in how you think (cognitions), feel (physically and emotionally) and how you act (behaviours). We identify cycles that keep you stuck, and how to break free.
Specialist CBT is a leading treatment for disordered eating, binge eating disorder and bulimia nervosa.
Treatment is typically around 20 sessions. This can depend on your readiness to change, for some people it can take fewer sessions. In some cases there may be extra challenges to work through and it may take longer.
